Chutes - a winter tubing experience for the whole family. Without driving to the mountains or the mess of fake snow.

Here's what to expect when you come tubing at the Chutes:

  • A snow-free tubing experience (we use a dry, slick surface to provide a fast tubing experience)
  • One hour sessions designed for family fun for all ages
  • An incredible holiday atmosphere
  • Concessions available

Some frequently asked questions:

Do I have to purchase tickets ahead of time?

Yes. Because our tubing sessions frequently sell out, we do require everyone to register ahead of time. If you show up without a ticket, there is a chance we will not have a spot for you. We limit our sessions to give the best experience possible, and not spend your whole time waiting in line.

Do you have any age or weight requirements for tubing?

No. Any age or weight is able to enjoy the Chutes. We ask that parents of small children to be cautious and plan on riding the Chutes with their child. Our recommended method is to have the parent behind the child in separate tubes, to make sure they make it safely to the bottom.

Can I just watch?

Grandparents, parents, chaperones, guardians or other family are welcome to watch for free if you have family/friends going down the Chutes. No ticket purchase is required to watch. But, you do need a ticket to go tubing at any point.

Do you have special ticket prices for small children?

Unfortunately, no. In order to provide the best service to everyone, we reserve a specific amount of tubes for each person registered, regardless of age. This means that a small child has a space reserved for them, because we believe their best experience is in a tube of their own. Because everyone receives the same experience, all ticket prices are the same.

Can you go down the Chutes together (in a train or in a race)?

Yes! We encourage you to have fun with the Chutes and enjoy it as a group or a family. We have prepared a safety video for you to watch upon arrival, indicating what is allowed on the Chutes.

Do you have any food there?

No hot food will be served, but we do have some hot snacks and drinks for sale. Please plan accordingly.

Can we have a birthday or company party here?

Sure! You can fill out this form and we will be in touch about renting a space for a party. We encourage you to purchase these tickets well in advance.

Where are you located?

Right on the other side of Crowders Mountain. Our address is 130 Camp Rotary Rd, Gastonia NC 28052.

What exactly do I get with a ticket purchase?

Our tickets are $13 per person, and this includes 1 one-hour session at the Chutes. This also includes on-site amenities such as basketball, gaga ball, ping pong, and carpetball.

Are tickets refundable?

No. All ticket purchases are final. If you purchase a ticket for an incorrect date, contact our office and we will do our best to transfer your ticket to another date.

What about weather?

We make inclement weather calls at noon on the day of the session. During light rain, sessions will continue as normal. For downpouring rain, lighting, or thunderstorms, sessions will be moved to another date. You will be sent an email to transfer your current ticket to another date. There are no additional fees or ticket purchases required for inclement weather transfers. If icy/snowy weather occurs, we will make a judgement call as to whether or not roads around our camp are safe for everyone to arrive. Sessions will be held on normal schedule if roads are cleared in an appropriate amount of time. For specific questions, call (704) 915-1096.
